Spores are more special than what we let on. Every single one of them is profoundly special.

This spore shop was born from a hobby which distracted my own mind from a world of depression, anxiety and PTSD. Microscopy continues to bring about new ways of thinking for me, helps to see from other perspectives as well as inward and helps me grow as a person and to think more positively.

This hobby is therapeutic because seeing those spores through the third eye of a microscope brings to view a world you cannot see otherwise.

The reason why most customers of Cylocybe stay with us and aren’t tempted to other shops who do an utterly amazing job with social media and marketing is because we always make it personal – because it is for us.

We provide magical products for the soul* (*spores for microscopy research). And it’s hard putting a price on that, but if I’m being pushed, it’s £8 for a 3ml and £16 for a 12ml in case you are wondering…

We were the first mycoscopy shop of our kind in the UK, at a time when telling people about this hobby got the strange looks!

Look around now, it’s not humble bragging, this shop started a movement and we feel nothing but pride in the customers who told their friends to buy here and kept us and the scene growing year after year.

No one knows this feeling quite like us and our customers who first met us selling spores on eBay in 2017 out of a 1-bedroom flat.

If it weren’t for our old customers coming on to the scene as competition, we’d still be sending orders out from 2020-2022!

There is a huge elephant in the room with what’s going on in certain parts of the world right now, and it breaks our hearts. The only meaningful contribution we have to anything is to keep making the products that help us go to a positive place and to try to share those infectious good vibes with customers when they speak with us. We’ll always see you as a human being here, never as a number.

When you purchase your spores from us, we can’t promise perfection, but we’ll try our absolute best to ensure you the most viable, clean spores we can possibly achieve using the best prints we can source using the best technology we have, like our ISO4 laminar flow hood.

And in the unlikely event you spot something bad through your microscope, we’ll replace it free of charge*. We won’t pass blame, we’ll just get your replacement in the post to you. Happy customers who stick with this hobby has always been top priority since we first opened this shop.

If you place an order for a spore product and pay for it before 1pm, and we can’t get it out same day, we’ll give you a free spore syringe of your choice.
