PF-Tek InocuBox Grow Kit

The PF-Tek InocuBox Grow Kit is a classic and beginner-friendly solution for mushroom cultivation. This all-in-one kit makes growing mushrooms at home simple and accessible, even for those brand new to the hobby.

Please note:
This kit supercedes the MycoBox we are well known for, and now has 1 injection port as opposed to 5 in the photo. This enhancement reduces the number of pathways for microbes to gain entry while increasing the odds of success at the expense of a few extra days colonising!

The other enhancement is the InocuBox is larger, at 1.6L instead of 1.2L, but filled with the same amount of PF-Tek substrate as before (1.2L). This allows headroom between the top of the substrate and the injection port to allow needle maneuverability for squirting solution all over the substrate instead of being restricted to  opposed to particular points – a smarter, simpler system which is more efficient, gives better results and a major quality bump for the same price.

Considerations

• Longer colonisation time compared to our smaller MycoPot or MycDrop grow kits.
• May be too straightforward for those seeking a more hands-on or advanced cultivation experience. Enhanced or Regular Version

The Enhanced version upgrades the XL grow tent to a larger XXL grow tent and includes Vermiculite, which allows you to use a technique known as Dunk ‘n’ Roll. The process for this is explained in our instructions and essentially, it helps to restore moisture lost from the substrate during the growth of your mushrooms.

This then encourages additional growth in the next batch of mushrooms (known as flushes) and maximises the productivity of your substrate with more flushes supported. The vermiculite layer maintains a humid microclimate that mushrooms thrive on.

If you’re happy to rely on the natural moisture of the substrate and would rather keep it as easy as possible, the regular version will still give you excellent results.

What’s Not Included

• You will need a 3ml gourmet mushroom spore or liquid culture syringe.

Additional Advice

Colonisation of the PF-Tek InocuBox typically takes:

• 5-8 weeks at ~20℃ (room temperature)
• 3-4 weeks at 26℃ (optimal conditions / lab incubator)

Please note that cooler temperatures will result in slower growth.

Inoculation Steps

1. First, clean the PF-Tek InocuBox thoroughly using the included alcohol wipe.
2. Next, inject 0.5ml of a gourmet spore or liquid culture syringe into each rubber port.
3. Then, place the InocuBox in a warm location until fully colonised.
4. Follow the provided instructions to harvest your mushrooms.
